A University of Melbourne student society dedicated to plants and soil in nature, in the field, and at home.

Through field trips, workshops, group gardening sessions, lab tours, and expert talks given at the University, SAPS exists to raise the ecological literacy of Australia, and to promote the physical and mental health benefits of plants and soil.

Further, SAPS exists to tackle food sovereignty issues faced by Australians daily by influencing policy related to food and farming towards resilience and agroecological solutions.

Finally, SAPS connects students to University academics across Australia and abroad. This is for the explicit purpose of promoting the study of plants and soil by increasing the accessibility of resources and researchers.
